A free Google Maps check

Buyers in Seattle search for IT help. They never see you.

We ran 12,352 Google Maps searches across the Seattle and Eastside area, the searches a business types when it needs an IT firm. Network Architects showed up 78 times. It never made the top 3, the three firms Google shows before anyone scrolls.

We ran 12,352 searches and watched who came up.

We picked 8 things a business types into Google when it needs an IT firm. We searched Google Maps for each one from 1,544 spots spread over the Seattle and Eastside area, roughly one spot every half mile. Each search shows what a buyer standing at that spot would see. We also read the website and the Google Business Profile, and we looked at the reviews and at who links to the site.

The 8 searches:

You appear only within about a mile of your own office.

Each dot is one place we searched from. Pick a search, and the dots show what rank Network Architects held from that spot, or who held the first spot instead.

Network Architects never reaches the top 3 from any of the 1,544 spots.

14th

We ran one extra search with Google Maps zoomed right in on the office, showing only a few blocks. In that small window there are hardly any other IT firms, so Network Architects came up 3rd for "managed IT services", 1st for "IT support", and 2nd for "IT company". That is what you see standing at 10501 NE 38th Pl. A buyer a mile away sees Google comparing every IT firm in the region. There, Network Architects is 14th at best and usually absent. The big survey used Google's normal regional view. The extra search used a street-level view.

Five things keep you off the map. The first takes five minutes to fix.

Cause 1

94.6%

of the top-3 spots for "managed IT services" go to firms with the right category.

1. Google thinks you're a computer shop.

The main category on your Google profile is "Computer service". The firms that win use "Computer support and services". Your profile also lists "Computer accessories store" and "Computer software store". Those two tell Google you sell parts over a counter.

Proof: Firms with the category "Computer support and services" hold 94.6% of the top-3 spots for "managed IT services".

Fix: Change the main category and remove the two store categories. About five minutes.

Cause 2

2

addresses, one firm.

10501 NE 38th Pl, KirklandYour profile and your footer text
10422 NE 37th Circle, Suite 102Where the footer link opens

2. Your website sends buyers to the wrong address.

Your Google profile and your website footer both say 10501 NE 38th Pl, Kirkland. But the footer address is a link. Click it and Google Maps opens at 10422 NE 37th Circle, Suite 102. A buyer tapping for directions goes to the wrong building, and Google sees two addresses for one firm.

Proof: Two addresses, one firm.

Fix: Change one line in the footer. About ten minutes.

Cause 3

4

Network Architects

30

159

Google reviews

3. You have four reviews. The firms that beat you have about thirty.

Your Google profile has 4 reviews. All are 5 stars. The oldest is from January 2021 and none has a reply from the owner. A typical top-3 firm in this area has about 30 reviews, somewhere between 20 and 40. Attentus Technologies has 159.

Proof: 4 reviews against a typical 30.

Fix: Ask 10 happy clients for a review this month, and reply to every review you get.

Cause 4

18

months since the last post. 65 posts before that.

4. Your Google profile went quiet 18 months ago.

Between November 2024 and April 2025 the profile published 65 posts. The last one is dated 30 April 2025. Nothing since.

Proof: 65 posts, then 18 months of nothing.

Fix: Post once a week. About fifteen minutes a week.

5. Your website tells Google you're hiring, not selling.

9,437

7 service pages

1,528

9,437 words about hiring. 1,528 words about what you sell.

Your managed IT page takes 10.4 seconds to show on a phone. Google wants under 2.5.

Your managed IT page

10.4 sec

What Google wants

2.5 sec

Every service page takes 9 to 13 seconds.

The site has 11 job-posting pages of 680 to 1,150 words each. It has 7 service pages of only 180 to 350 words each. The search term the site ranks for most is "network architect", searched 2,400 times a month by people who want a job. The word "Seattle" appears on no page. No page has a main heading or a description for Google, and the blog is empty. The site also has no address data in the format Google reads. Service pages take 9 to 13 seconds to show on a phone. The managed IT page takes 10.4 seconds. Google wants under 2.5.

Proof: The 11 job pages add up to 9,437 words. The 7 service pages add up to 1,528. About 6 words on hiring for every 1 on what the firm sells. The technical health score is fine at 92 out of 100, so the problem is the words and the speed, not the code.

Fix: Rewrite the 7 service pages so they are longer and load fast, and name the cities you serve. About two to three weeks.

Netsurit has 25 reviews and a single office in Puyallup. It still holds 7.6% of the region. Reviews help, but they are not the whole game.

Google now writes its own answer above the map. It never names you.

Search "managed IT services" on Google today and the first thing on the page is a paragraph Google writes itself, above the map and above every website. It names a few IT firms. That paragraph appears on 5 of the 8 searches, and it never names Network Architects. Google builds it from the same profiles and websites it uses for the map, so the same fixes get you into it.
